Dear Parents
It was lovely to welcome the children back to school this week after the Easter break. We hope you enjoyed time with your families; both in the warm record breaking temperatures of March and the more varied Spring weather of April.
The final day of last term saw the Prep children and staff arrive at school in a wide assortment of red clothing to support Sports Relief 2012. The football pitch had been carefully marked out so that exactly four laps made our Sports Relief Mile! The weather was kind to us and every child in the school completed their mile for this Charity in beautiful Spring sunshine to gain their special certificate. Many parents came to cheer on the children, to eat the delicious homemade cakes for sale and some even joined in with their children to complete their Sports Relief Miles too. An amazing £568.70 was raised on the day as a combined total from the Prep and Nursery School. Thanks go to everyone who provided cakes, ran their mile and donated so generously. Coming together as a School for such a successful event and common purpose was a truly memorable way to finish the term.
The children at the Prep School worked very hard last term and it was pleasing to see the great number of "Pluses" awarded to individuals for good work and conduct both in the classroom and around the School. There was great anticipation at the end of term Mark Reading, when the House Cup was presented to St. Martin’s House who had the most Pluses overall.
The Spring Term House placings were as follows:-
1st - St. Martin’s
2nd - St Mary’s
3rd - St. Etheldreda’s 4th - St. Patrick’s.
The Summer term promises to be exciting and very busy; as there are many events, activities and sporting fixtures planned for the children that we are sure they will enjoy.
Best wishes.
Maria Maslin
Prep School Headteacher
