Dear Parents
What an amazing end to a very busy term!
It has been a week of high success and great enjoyment at the Prep School this week.
We offer huge congratulations to Jadon Bristow and Amelie Holdbrook for getting through to the next round of Radio 2’s 500 Words Competition – there were over 90,000 entries submitted and only 3,000 selected for the next round. Mrs Williamson has also been selected to be a Judge! Judging is still on-going and we will let you know of any further successes.
Monday started with Year 4 leading our School Assembly on valuing and using our skills and talents. We learnt about the many, varied talents of our year 4 pupils and were amazed at what they enjoyed doing both in and outside School. They reminded us to value the chances we have to learn new skills and not to waste opportunities if we are to use our talents well.
The Prep School Choir sang at the Spring Concert on Tuesday evening. They entertained the audience with two pieces recently performed at the Hastings Musical Festival. Their performance was received with great applause. The children thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a wonderful evening. Congratulations and thanks go to Miss Neave our Choir Director for her commitment and energy; the children clearly gain their joy of singing from her.
On Wednesday our Prep School Swimming Team headed to Horsham for the East Sussex round of National Schools Swimming Championship. I am delighted to inform you that our swimmers won in both the Medley and Freestyle Relays, cheered on by our supportive group of parents who had travelled to West Sussex for the event. A huge thank you goes to Miss Govan who organised and trained the team.
Everyone at the Prep School wishes you a relaxing Easter break.
School recommences after the break on Monday 15th April.
Best wishes
Maria Maslin
